Abrava

Abreva® (docosanol) is an over-the-counter medication approved for treating cold sores. By changing the cell membranes of uninfected cells to help prevent the cold sore virus from getting into healthy cells, the drug can shorten the healing time and the duration of symptoms. It comes as a cream that is applied directly on the cold sore five times a day, usually at the first signs of an outbreak. Talk to your healthcare provider before using Abreva if you have any allergies.
