Drug Interactions With Acyclovir Ointment
There are no known drug interactions with acyclovir ointment (Zovirax® ointment). Because only a small amount of the medication is absorbed through the skin into the bloodstream, acyclovir ointment is unlikely to interact with medications that are taken by mouth. Studies have also suggested that acyclovir ointment is not likely to interact with other ointments or creams applied to the skin.
There may be potential interactions with acyclovir ointment that are not currently known. Therefore, you should talk with your pharmacist or healthcare provider about any specific drug interactions that may apply to you.
