The lidocaine patch is not approved for use in children. Talk with your child's healthcare provider about the benefits and risks of using the lidocaine patch in children. For households with young children (or pets), it is especially important to dispose of used lidocaine patches in a safe manner, as even the used patches contain enough medication to harm a child or pet.

 

Off-Label Uses

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend this product for something other than treating postherpetic neuralgia. This would be known as an off-label use. At this time, using the lidocaine patch to treat any other type of pain would be considered an off-label use.
